Call me shallow, but I think games that lack good graphics aren't that great to play. Look at it this way: what's better, a game with good gameplay or a game with good gameplay AND good graphics? Having browsed over Cryllan Mission, I can see it's a fairly complicated RPG, which would be a good game once you've mastered the interface.
I remember reading upon its release that it used System 5's newer, quicker GUI screen draws as part of its interface. I was worried back then that the game might utilise the 640x200 graphics mode of the IIGS, not having any screen grabs and steered clear of it back then. Because I'm so shallow, my worries were indeed founded when I finally came face to face with the Cryllan Mission.
I think that if you have to use 640x200 resolution to fit all the menus and text within windows, then the game is overly complicated. That, on top of the fact it has some pretty mediocre graphics leaves room for improvement. This RPG might please the real die-hard role-players out there that think Bard's Tale is a Sunday picnic.
This archive includes a brand new fresh copy of the game - which is necessary, as the game cannot be started from the beginning unless you have fresh disks - you should ALWAYS play from copies of the original disks for this game!
