This archive includes v2.0 of Personal Newsletter. It sports a strange interface, but once you get used to it and the key commands, it's not too bad. What confused me most was that the program doesn't seem willing to load graphics or fonts from the volume it booted from, which kinda defeats the purpose of having much more space from a single 3.5" 800k disk over a 5.25" 140k floppy. So I've created a secondary 3.5" disk image with this archive, and placed all the included clip art and fonts on the root directory so they're easy to get to. There are a couple of sample files you can load (see screenshots) and you can import the included Personal Newsletter clip art into layouts - the program also imports Dazzle Draw and Newsroom formats as well.
The program seems to run well from a hard drive, and even System 6, although remember that you can't select and edit with files on the boot volume, and it seems to only list files from one other volume on the Smartport, so you've got to ensure no other volumes are preseent when you do that. So some tricks involved, but it's interesting exploring this more unusual desktop publishing application.
