Print Shop IIGS, The

If the Print Shop needs any introduction, well, it'd be this: Originally released for the 8-bit Apple II in 1984 it was enjoyed the world over for creating and printing greeting cards, signs, letterheads and banners. Its users extended its built in graphic library with many disks full of artwork that could be purchased or made available through user groups and shareware distributors. The program was made available for the Commodore 64, IBM PC, the Macintosh and then the IIGS.

Print Shop IIGS is another example of the initial excellent IIGS specific software releases for the then fledgling platform. Designed to run from one 3.5 inch floppy disk and with only 512k of RAM, the ProDOS 8 based program boots quickly and the rest of the application follows suit, with every facet of the program quick to obey your commands.

Print Shop comes with built in designs for the lazy, and a library of artwork to help create your own stationary masterpieces. If you're not happy with the artwork, create your own using the Graphic Editor.

The program supports a wide array of printers, but none probably work quite as well as the partnership with an Imagewriter II printer (at least, from my personal experience).
