The program itself launches from the Storyteller disk, but each story is contained on additional disks. The stories included with this archive are: Little Red Riding Hood, Henny Penny, The Ugly Duckling, Aladdin & the Magic Lamp, Jack & the Bean Stalk and Peter Rabbit.

The interface for Milliken Story Teller is nicely unobtrusive, but I hope kids, teachers and parents alike don't give up on the program before they figure out how to use it. To save you the trouble, keep an eye on the cursor itself - when it's placed in the top left hand corner of the screen, it will exit the story. Place the cursor at the top right hand corner of the screen and you get access to the program's preferences (which can also always be accessed by pressing 'P'); placing the cursor at the bottom right affectively turns the page.

Each story is spoken aloud by the IIGS and to help kids read along each word is underlined as it's spoken, although this option needs to be specified in the preferences. To challenge kids, at the end of some scenes, a question will be asked that will test whether kids have understood the passage. This option is on by default, but can be turned off via the prefs.

You can install the program itself to a hard drive and run from System 6, however, the application always expects the stories to be found on one of the 3.5 inch disk drives.
